NEWPORT-The possibility of Cocke County hosting another
RAM (Rural Area Medical) event was among the reports heard by members of the
Cocke County Partnership's Executive Community during their February meeting on
Thursday.
Don Ellison, reporting for the Cocke County Health
Council, told the group that a committee has been named to explore the
possibility of hosting such an event in "about a year to 18 months"
has been named.
"We'll need over 200 volunteers," said Ellison,
"if we're to do this." According to Ellison, the last RAM event held
in Cocke County was highly successful. "We raised about $11,000 for that
one," he explained, "and received $108,000 in healthcare."
