COSBY-The regular season ended in style for the state’s fifth ranked Class A girls basketball team on Monday night.

Cosby sent off four seniors with solid nights and a big 75-37 win over Jellico High School to close out their regular season with a 22-3 record. Senior Tiffany Smelcer, who took home Homecoming queen
honors later in the night, scored 15 points to lead the Lady Eagles.

In the boys’ game, the Eagles were unable to complete the season sweep over Jellico, despite the best efforts of senior guard Cory Valentine.

Valentine had 29 points, but the Eagles fell to the Blue Devils by a 68-62 margin to close out the regular season.
