Mickey D. McCarter, 23, of Cosby, was killed Tuesday, Feb. 12, when around 5:45 a.m. the Grand Jeep Cherokee he was a passenger in left the eastbound lane of Interstate 40, struck a guardrail, and went airborne, over Golf Course Road, and hit an embankment, the Tennessee Highway Patrol reported. The driver, Chaz R. Evans, 21, of Cosby, was injured, THP Trooper Jeremy Shelton reported.
