NEWPORT-The 911 board voted to place former director
Kathy Cody on administrative leave without pay when they met Tuesday, Feb. 5 at
the 911 office.
Cody was put on administrative leave with pay last fall
after the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation announced it was investigating her
for allegedly accessing restricted information from the TBI’s TIES database for
personal use.
Cody, 911 director and an employee of the 911 board of
directors, was present at the Feb. 5 meeting, but did not speak.
Cody’s attorney, William Perkins, who was filling in for
attorney Andrew Farmer, spoke on Cody’s behalf.
Before the board voted on a motion granting
administrative leave without pay, Perkins said Cody would like to be reinstated
to her position with pay.
