NEWPORT-Jason Richard Laws, 34, of 1633 Old Newport Highway, in Newport, was arrested Monday, Feb. 4 at 10:45 p.m. after he allegedly held a knife to the throat of his girlfriend and told her he was going to kill her, Deputy Sheriff Heath Willis reported.

Laws allegedly got into an altercation with Kim Fine, 44, his girlfriend, at his residence.

Laws allegedly pushed Fine down on the couch, put his knees on her throat, and told her he was going to kill her, Willis reported.
