COSBY-A suspicious fire on Saturday, Feb. 2, destroyed
the Cosby residence of a 77-year-old man who left his residence vacant to
attend the funeral of his wife, K9 Deputy Sheriff Chris Gregg reported.
Units from the Cosby Volunteer Fire Department and Cocke
County Fire Department responded to the 2:30 p.m. call of a "smoke in the
area" call at 2690 Sorrel Road, in Cosby, according to a report by K9
Deputy Sheriff Chris Gregg.
The owner of the property, Carl Fish, said he left
earlier in the day, at 9:30 a.m., to attend his wife's funeral.
