NEWPORT-Three members of the Newport Board of Education-Charlotte J. Mims, Mike Overholt, and Linda Powell-took their oaths of office on Monday, January 14, during the board's regular meeting.

Judge John Bell administered the trio's oaths. Moms and Overholt returned to the board following their re-election, and Powell began her first full term as an elected member.

Mickey Powers was unanimously re-elected as chairman, and Jan Sneed as vice-chair of the group.
