NEWPORT-Police who happened to see a drug deal at a gas
station take place ended up arresting a 19-year-old suspected drug dealer and
seizing a shotgun, and $925 from him in what are considered proceeds from drug
activity, on Friday, Jan. 18, the Newport Police Department reported.
William L. Wood, 19, of 435 Warford Road, in Newport, was
arrested Jan. 18 and charged with possession of Schedule 2 for resale
(Oxycodone), possession of a firearm with the intent to go armed, and driving
on a suspended license, Capt. Scott Lamb reported.
Police answered a call at Stop 'n Go #2 store, and while
there, noticed what appeared to be a drug deal at the gas pumps, the report
stated.
