NEWPORT-Samuel Tressler, 26, of 616 Battle Road, in
Newport, was arrested Sunday, Jan. 13, and charged with multiple charges,
including seven counts of aggravated assault on officers and three counts of
child endangerment, the Cocke County Sheriff's Office reported.
Officers responded at about 9 p.m. on Sunday to a fight
call at Tressler's residence, according to the report.
Officers contacted Daryl Luyat, 68; Tressler; and Joshua
Mann, age unknown.
Luyat allegedly became "very aggressive" with
officers, the report stated.
Tresser and Mann allegedly said they had been fighting
Luyat.
Luyat allegedly started walking away, and when officers
told him to come back, Tressler got very aggressive, yelling and cussing at
officers that the officers did not need to talk to his grandfather that way.
