Although Morristown based Tidi Waste has been sold to
Waste Industries of Raleigh, N.C., officials say the move will mean no changes
in the Cocke County's waste contract.
Tidi Waste submitted the lone bid for the county's waste
disposal, which was approved last year. The new contract could result in a
savings of $60,000 per year for the county by use of compactors and recycling
bins at designated convenience centers.
