GREENEVILLE-U.S. District Judge Dennis H. Inman has dismissed a lawsuit against Cocke County by residents of Valley View Estates.

Kathy and Lawton Woods, along with Jessica and Mark Blask, filed the lawsuit against Cocke County, the Cocke County Legislative Body, Cocke County Highway Commission, Road Supt. Kenneth Ford and developer Ricky Bryant in July 2011, after the county refused to take Valley View's roads into the county road system.

Inman had earlier ruled in summary judgment against the plaintiffs' claims that the county impliedly accepted the roads and the county's refusal to accept the roads amounted to a denial of substantive due process.
