NEWPORT-The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is
putting up billboards in the southeastern United States with photos of two
suspected robbers of a Newport Bank on Dec. 26, a FBI spokesman said Monday,
Jan. 7.
"We wanted to cast a wider net to increase the
number of calls we might get here," spokesman Marshall Stone of the FBI
Knoxville office said.
The two suspects in the robbery of Tennessee State Bank
in Newport are suspects in a Georgia bank robbery that occurred earlier, on
Dec. 11, according to surveillance cameras in the two banks, Stone said.
