NEWPORT-Greg Daniels, 18, said a pit bull bit his leg
while he was riding his bicycle up Carson Springs Road, on Dec. 31, the Cocke
County Sheriff's Department reported.
Daniels said he was riding his bike, when at 11:30 a.m.,
several dogs came out in the road and got in front of him, Sgt. Tony Whitten
reported.
He said a brown, fully-grown pit bull came up to him and
bit him on his right lower leg. The victim had two holes that were bleeding
when Sgt. Whitten reached him at his residence.
Animal Control found the dog and its owner. The owner
allegedly said he could not have a dog that would bite a kid, so he gave up his
rights to the dog and transferred them to Animal Control.
