NEWPORT-Rickie L. Brown, 53, of White Pine, a suspected drug dealer, was arrested Thursday, Dec. 27, after the vehicle he was driving caught the attention of a Newport Police Department patrolman because Brown failed to keep it within his lane of traffic, the department reported.

Officers allegedly found $5,186.25 in cash in one of Brown's pockets, and in the vehicle, three clear baggies with suspected marijuana, two sets of scales, and two unopened jars of moonshine, the NPD reported.

Brown allegedly admitted to selling marijuana to pay for his drug habit.

Brown was spotted traveling erratically in a 1996 GMC 1500 pickup truck on Cosby Highway, when the traffic stop was made, the report stated.
