NEWPORT-The Newport Grammar basketball squads started their Christmas break on a positive note as they earned a pair of wins over New Center on Thursday.

The Lady Warriors struggled offensively for most of the night but found a way to win, 23-22.
Paige Gentry led Newport Grammar with seven points.

The Warriors cruised to a 63-29 win and didn't have much trouble after the first few minutes.

Will Woods led with 16 points. Santana Haney also had 15 points in the win. Jonathan Holt added 11.
