An Eastport man was released by court order on Monday
evening after being resentenced by Circuit Judge Ben W. Hooper II under the
terms of a 2011 state supreme court opinion.
David Lynn Sisk, 32, has been in custody since January 3,
2007, in connection with the 2006 break-in of the residence of Manit and Marina
Subhakul at 504 Seventh Street sometime between March 27 and April 4, 2006. He
was originally sentenced to 27 years in prison, a term which was reversed on
appeal.
Sisk's case was sent back to Judge Hooper by the
Tennessee Supreme Court, which instructed the judge to resentence the
defendant.
