NEWPORT-The regular monthly meeting of the Cocke County Legislative Body, initially slated for 6 p.m. Monday (last night), has been rescheduled to 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 20, in the Cocke County Courthouse due to the death of CLB member Bill Williamson. Cocke County Mayor Vaughn Moore said CLB members will
address routine business at Thursday's meeting and will then have a called

Also on Thursday, the CLB will hold a Public Hearing at
5:30 p.m. (prior to the CLB meeting at 6 p.m.) in the Circuit Courtroom at the
County Courthouse. The purpose of the meeting is to consider amending the Cocke
County Flood Damage Prevention Resolution as recommended by the Cocke County
Regional Plannng Commission. The public hearing, too, was initially scheduled
for Monday but was postponed.
As for the vacancy on the board created by Williamson's
death, Moore said it will be up to the CLB to appoint someone to fulfill the
