NEWPORT-A woman was arrested and charged with domestic assault after she allegedly threw a Christmas ornament at her boyfriend, which cut his right arm, on Wednesday, Dec. 12, the Cocke County Sheriff's Office reported.

Martha Banks, 51, of 121 Boomerang Way, in Newport, was allegedly arguing with Richard Hance, her boyfriend, when the argument escalated into a physical altercation and Banks threw a Christmas ornament at Hance that cut his arm, Deputy Sheriff Bob Schaff reported.
