NEWPORT-A Knoxville resident who heard about the dog killed during an aggravated burglary on Nov. 28 is offering a $500 reward to anyone with knowledge of who perpetrated the crime.

Michael Holober is offering the reward.

On Nov. 28, Newport Police Department officers were called to a residence on Eighth Street concerning an aggravated burglary, according to a report by NPD Capt. Scott Lamb.

Police discovered the rear door had been kicked in, the master bedroom of the residence had been ransacked, and the victim's pet terrier mix, named "Simon", had been killed.
