NEWPORT-Chicken Coop Restaurant owner Nicholas F. Rae, 33, of 248-B English St., in Newport, was arrested Dec. 8 and charged with theft over $10,000 and filing a false report, Patrolman Joshua Veridal reported.

On Dec. 8, at 12:50 p.m., officers went to the restaurant at 587 West Broadway, in regards to active warrants against Rae for filing a false report and theft over $10,00, Veridal stated in his report.

Officers contacted Rae in the restaurant's kitchen area, arrested him, and served both warrants on the suspect, according to the report.
