NEWPORT-Organizers of Newport's 2012 Christmas parade hope the beautiful weather of last weekend repeats itself this Saturday when hundreds of people are expected to line Broadway for the popular event. Parade staging will begin at 11:00 a.m. at Cocke County
High School. The parade will begin at 3:00 p.m. and head down Hedrick Drive to
Debbie's Drive-In, then turn east onto Broadway to proceed through downtown
Newport.
After passing Con-Agra, the parade will then turn up
Lincoln Avenue to conclude at Lincoln Avenue Baptist Church.
For those unable to attend the parade in person, First
Baptist Church will again broadcast the celebration live on cable TV, with a
rebroadcast scheduled for later in the day.
