NEWPORT-A Parrottsville man was arrested Dec. 3 after he allegedly drove his truck away with his estranged wife hanging on to it for about 250 yards, the Cocke County Sheriff's Department reported. Michael Jason Sams, 35, of 3775 Long Creek Road, in
Parrottsville, was charged with domestic assault, Det. Bryan Murr reported.
Sams' estranged wife, Christy Dawn Sams, 30, of Highway
73, in Newport, stated she met her estranged husband at Brock's on East Highway
25/70, on Friday, Nov. 30, at 4:30 p.m., to let him have her children until
next Saturday, Dec. 8, the report stated.
