Alma J. Lane, 74, of Bogard Road, in Newport, told officers she accidentally pushed
the gas pedal instead of the brakes when she parked a 1999 GMC Sierra pickup
truck in front of Tan Easy Tanning, at 327 Cosby Highway, in Newport, on Monday,
Dec. 3, at 1 p.m., Newport Police Department Patrolman Mike Robey reported. The
truck crashed into the tanning salon. Lane's husband, Kenneth Lane, was a passenger
in the truck. No one was hurt.

NEWPORT-No one was injured when Alma J. Lane, 74, of
Bogard Road, in Newport, accidentally crashed a pickup truck she was driving
into the storefront of Tan Easy Tanning, at 327 Cosby Highway, on Monday, Dec.
3, the Newport Police Department reported.
Lane allegedly told Patrolman Mike Robey that her
husband, Kenneth Lane, was passenger in a GMC truck they co-own in the parking
lot in front of the tanning salon when she accidentally pushed the gas pedal
instead of the brakes, and crashed through the front wall of the building, at 1
p.m.
Alma Lane said she was trying to park the truck she was
driving when the accident occurred.
