NEWPORT-Michael Teal, 25, a jail trusty who escaped while
on a "can crew" in the community last week, was captured without
incident at his girlfriend's residence on Monday, Dec. 3, the Cocke County
Sheriff's Department reported.
CCSD Chief Deputy John Carroll said Teal was captured at
about 10:15 a.m. at his girlfriend Miranda Price's residence at 296 Echo Valley
Way.
"It's about having the right resources,"
Carroll said of the U.S. Marshals Service, which aided in the tracking and
capturing of Teal.
