NEWPORT-Michael Teal, 25, a jail trusty who escaped while on a "can crew" in the community last week, was captured without incident at his girlfriend's residence on Monday, Dec. 3, the Cocke County Sheriff's Department reported.

CCSD Chief Deputy John Carroll said Teal was captured at about 10:15 a.m. at his girlfriend Miranda Price's residence at 296 Echo Valley Way.

"It's about having the right resources," Carroll said of the U.S. Marshals Service, which aided in the tracking and capturing of Teal.
