Man charged with rape of 13-year-old

NEWPORT-William Chrisley Taylor, 55, of 1016 Meeks Way, in Newport, has been arrested and charged with the rape of a 13-year-old girl, the Cocke County Sheriff's Department reported,

Det. Kevin Benton and Deputy Sheriff Tony Bailey reported that Bailey responded to the emergency room at Newport Medical Center on Dec. 1, on the report of the girl's rape, the report stated.

The victim allegedly showed officers where the rape occurred and gave a description of the suspect.
