NEWPORT-Newport Grammar
School Modern Woodmen Youth Service Clubs recently presented a check for $443.50 to Sarah Stokely,
co-chair of the “Light Up the Holidays” project in which new Christmas lights are being
purchased for Newport. Sarah, the reigning Miss Greene County, is
working in cooperation with local clubs, businesses, government, community groups and interested
citizens to provide new Christmas lights during the holiday season. While many lights have already
been purchased and installed, more are needed for our main streets and highways. For more details, please see the weekend edition of
the Newport Plain Talk.
