NEWPORT-The Newport Regional Planning Commission on
Thursday, Nov. 29, approved the plat for a new 17,500-square foot Rural Medical
Services clinic, to be built across from Cocke County High School.
Officials working on the project said the project will be
bidded out, and, hopefully by February 2013 ground will be broken.
The new medical clinic may be done and open to the public
as early as early 2014, the officials said.
