KNOXVILLE-The Cocke County High School Lady Red came up just
short against powerful Farragut High School in their quest to defend their Kroger Thanksgiving
Classic Championship on Saturday evening at Gibbs High School.
Cocke County, winners of two
straight entering the finals, was defeated by Farragut by a 66-49 score in Saturday night's
championship game.
In the boys consolation game, Cocke County met District 2-AAA rival
Seymour High School. Seymour proved victorious by a 64-59 margin to wrap up third place honors.
Karns, which defeated Cocke County in semifinal play on Friday night, won the tournament with a
77-73 decision over Powell High School.
CCHS returns to action tonight with their third home
game of the 2012-13 season by hosting Class AA opponent Gatlinburg-Pittman High
School.
Tipoff of varsity action is slated for 6:30 p.m. tonight.
