AFTON-The Cosby Lady Eagles will play for the Greene County Thanksgiving Tip-off Tournament title tonight against North Greene, but they didn't have much trouble advancing there on Friday evening.
Other than a little bit of a slump to begin the third quarter, the Lady Eagles cruised to an easy 61-37 win over the host school, Chuckey-Doak.
They led by as many as 26 and head coach Richard Coggins was very pleased with his teams effort.
"To beat a home team by 24, that's a good win," Coggins said. "We struggled the third quarter, but anytime you get ahead of somebody like that it's hard to come back out fired up. (Chuckey-Doak) got ready and made some good adjustments and we didn't. Still, we pushed it back out to where we had it. So, I'm proud of them tonight."
