Dear Editor,
The Cocke County High School Beta Club would like to
thank the community for their support of our annual Veterans' Day program.
Attendance is always fabulous and this year was no different.
We would like to thank the following individuals for
taking time out of their schedules to come and speak to our guests: AMVETS
representative Dale Brown; Congressman Phil Roe; Cocke County Trustee Rob
Mathis; State Representative Jeremy Faison; Newport Mayor Connie Ball; Cocke
County Mayor Vaughn Moore; and retired Lt. Commander Michael Shelton.
Additionally, we would also like to thank the Elizabeth Williams School of
Dance.
After our program, we provided brunch for our attendees.
This was a fabulous event because of the generosity of so many businesses in
our community. We would like to thank: Shoney's, Bojangle's, Wendy's, Papa
John's Pizza, Pizza Plus, Arby's, Subway, Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC),
Sagebrush, Sonic, Chip Ouray of the Bargain Barn, Roger Stokely of Cocke County
Wholesale, and Smoky Mountain Home Health.
We would also like to offer a very special thank you to
Willie Green of Newport Printing. He designed and donated the programs
presented to attendees at our program and for this we are very grateful.
We appreciate the commitment of these businesses and
individuals. Recognizing the contributions of our veterans is very important
and the assistance we received was tremendous.
Thank you,
Kim Suggs
CCHS Teacher and Beta Club Advisor
