NEWPORT-District Attorney General James B. Dunn of the
Fourth Judicial District recently announced that a ceremony for the Victims'
Tree of Remembrance would be held Nov. 30 at 5 p.m. in honor of victims of
violent crimes.
The ceremony will be held in the Circuit Court Room
located on the second floor of the Sevier County Courthouse. Please bring an
ornament in honor of a victim of crime to hang on the tree. The tree will be on
display in the foyer of the courthouse throughout the holiday season to
commemorate victims of crime.
General Dunn would like to invite anyone who has suffered
the pain of losing a loved one to a violent crime. Law enforcement agencies
from all countries in the Fourth Judicial District are also invited. Please
bring your ornament, and we will have a table set up for you to check-in
between 4:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. until the ceremony starts.
