NEWPORT-Members of the Newport City Board of Education met
Monday, November 19, at Newport Grammar School.
During the workshop preceding the actual board meeting,
Director of Schools Steve Thompson asked for and received the board's
permission to send a second letter to five families who have not paid the
required tuition for their children to attend NGS.
"These families either live outside the city limits
or outside the county," Thompson explained.
"Earlier we had seven families who had not paid the
tuition," he continued, "but after notification, two of them did, but
the other five have ignored the notice."
