NEWPORT-For the second time in a year, Patrol Sgt. Donna Harrison of the Newport Police Department is facing administrative actions concerning department policy.

NPD Police Chief Maurice Shults said Friday, "Sgt. Harrison has been placed on administrative leave without pay indefinitely as of Wednesday night, pending an internal investigation into a policy violation."

The police chief said thee was "no estimated time of completion" of the internal investigation, but that when it is completed "and a decision is made, I'll have a press release."

The chief did not release any further details.
