Dear Editor,
I would like to comment on some recent events. First, if
you didn't get to see the Alumni football game for Cosby and CCHS, you missed a
very competitive and well played game that showed wonderful sportsmanship. It
was amazing by what was accomplished by two communities coming together. I was
amazed at the good turnout. Also the former cheerleaders did an excellent job.
I overheard a comment by the current cheerleaders that they were afraid the
former cheerleaders would come back and take their place because they were so
good. The former band students also gave an outstanding performance.
Another event I would like to comment on is the Veteran's
Day program at CCHS. The program was an excellent tribute to our veterans both
past and present. I cannot find the words to express the gratitude I have for
all of the people who participated in the program.
Just a few that I would like to mention are the CCHS band
and chorus, NJROTC, all the CCHS clubs that participated, especially the BETA
club that organized the program, the guest speakers, the principal Dr. Stewart,
and all the faculty and staff that helped make the program a success.
When you think the program cannot get any better from
year to year, it does. I heard several comments from the veterans about all the
hard work that it took to show tribute to them and how much they appreciated
the recognition that was given to them. They were also impressed by the respect
that they were shown by the students. I was pleased to see all of the veterans
that came to the program. It is a little sad to know that some of them might
not be back next year, as a new generation takes their place. As all teachers
feel, it makes you proud to see former and present students do well
representing CCHS.
Thanks,
Coach Mike Proffitt
