NEWPORT-Kathy Cody, E-911 director and an employee of the
911 board of directors, was suspended with pay at a 911 board meeting
Tuesday.
It followed a prior indictment from the grand jury that alleges she misused a
Tennessee Bureau of Information (TBU) computerized database for personal
reasons.
The 911 board of directors met Tuesday, Nov. 13 for about
90 minutes to hear from the results of two investigations into Cody's alleged
misuse of the TBI's TIES database for personal use, and from Cody's attorney,
Andrew Farmer.
The board then voted 6-3 to suspend Cody with pay
effective Wednesday, Nov. 14, through at least‚or perhaps no longer than‚Feb.
5, when the board will revisit the issue.
