Sign-ups for Angel Tree gifts announced

NEWPORT-Sign-ups by parents or caregivers for their children to receive a Christmas gift through Angel Tree will take place at Feed My Sheep Ministries soup kitchen on "C" Avenue at West Main Street, on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, Nov. 14-16, 9 a.m.-noon.

Each parent, grandparent, or person with custody of a child must volunteer five hours per child at the soup kitchen before they can receive their Angel Tree gift, Feed My Sheep Ministries announced.

Walmart is again this year sponsoring Angel Tree, with a tree with children's names on them to be placed inside the store on Cosby Highway.
