NEWPORT-A woman who claims she was just trying to break a driver's $100 bill ended up being dragged about 100 yards before falling to the ground and being injured, the Newport Police Department reported. Natalia Stewart, 27, of Jasmine Drive, in Newport, said
that on Saturday, Nov. 10, at 6:40 p.m., she was walking in front of an address
on Myers Circle when an acquaintance allegedly pulled up beside her in a
Trailblazer and asked her for change for a $100 bill, Patrolman Josh Holt
reported.
Stewart said she pulled out $100 in different bills from
her pocket and was leaning inside the vehicle to exchange the money when the
driver allegedly grabbed the money, along with a Newport Plain Talk weekend
paper.
