High School senior Drew Schreder has been named one of the two Tennessee State
Winners in the Wendy's High School Heisman award.
Schreder,
who has been an integral part for the Eagles on the gridiron over the past four
years, won the Heisman state award for males out of 10 finalists which were
announced last week. Celina Ferrell of Fairview High School was the Tennessee
female state winer.
"This
means so much to me," Schreder said on Monday evening. "To have the
honor to represent our state is incredible.
"I
am so grateful to be selected," Schreder said.
Schreder,
who recently set the Cosby single-season record for passing in a season, is the
second student athlete to win a Wendy's High School Heisman state winner award.
Megan Williams received the honor in 2007. For more details, please see the latest edition of the Newport Plain Talk.
