NEWPORT-Indicted by the county grand jury on Monday,
Cocke County Emergency Communications Director Kathy Cody was arrested on
Tuesday by agents of the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.
Cody is accused of official misconduct for allegedly
using her position to obtain unauthorized information from the local E-911 data
base for her personal use.
Cody's was among 165 cases considered this week during a
two-day session of the grand jury. Arraignments for defendants accused by the
grand jury this week are scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. on Monday, November 5, in
criminal court. Circuit Judge Ben W. Hooper II, who accepted the grand jury's
second report this week around 11 a.m. on Tuesday, will preside over the
arraignments.
