DEL RIO-A third, and probably final, version of the
events surrounding the shooting of a 20-year-old man, was recently revealed.
In the first version, there was a dramatic story about a
juvenile allegedly witnessing someone in a passing vehicle shoot a relative in
the stomach.
That turned out to be false.
The juvenile allegedly told Patrolman Derek Wright with
the Newport Police Department that on Saturday, Oct. 20, he and Dana Stallings,
20, were walking on Wayside Alley when a small dark-colored vehicle passed
them.
The juvenile said he heard what appeared to be a
firecracker sound. He said that Stallings grabbed his stomach, where he had
been shot, and fell towards the juvenile.
Upon re-examination, however, the narrative crumbled and
another version surfaced, according to a NPD report. For more details, please see the latest edition of the Newport Plain Talk.
