DEL RIO-The 27th annual Del Rio Days celebration this weekend will conclude Cocke County's series of fall festivals in fine style, with music, food, vendors, and entertainment for all ages.

Held at the Jones Nature Center, across Hwy. 107 from Del Rio Elementary School, the festival will open Saturday, October 27, and conclude Sunday, October 28. Saturday hours are 10-6. On Sunday, the festival will reopen at noon and close at 5 p.m.

Sponsored by the Del Rio Community Association, Del Rio Days, with support from the Brushy Mountain Bear Club and the Del Rio Preservation Society, will again feature the popular Del Rio Song Contest. Begun last year, the competition invites songwriters to submit their works and perform them for the crowds, starting at 2 p.m. Sunday. Special guest for that part of the program will be US Rep. Phil Roe, who has promised to play his guitar.

A CD of the 2012 Del Rio Song Contest will be available on Saturday and Sunday. The CD includes twelve songs and sells for $12.50.
