NEWPORT-The mountains will soon be alive with the sound of music this Saturday, Oct. 27, at the English Mountain Classic presented by the Red Regiment of Cocke County High School, Newport.

The marching band competition features 14 bands representing schools in East Tennessee and Virginia. Additionally, the hosting Red Regiment marching band of Cocke County High School will perform in exhibition.

The performances begin at 2:20 p.m.

Single A bands include those with one to 35 musicians. The single A bands are North Greene, Cloudland, Grainger, Chuckey-Doak, and Unicoi County. AA Class bands (36 to 68 musicians) include Johnson County, Sullivan Central, West Greene, Jefferson County and Gatlinburg-Pittman.
