GRASSY FORK-"Get Out and Stay Out!", along with "Know 2
Ways Out", sounded throughout halls of Grassy Fork Elementary School recently,
as students and firefighters reviewed fire prevention tips for National Fire
Prevention Month.
Each October, members of the Grassy Fork Volunteer Fire
Department review fire prevention tips with the Grassy Fork Elementary
students, kindergarten thru 8.
Students reviewed home evacuation plans and drills, smoke
detector placement and service recommendations, how to effectively use a fire
extinguisher and proper placement in a home, "Stop Drop and Roll", home fire
safety tips and for the finale, students enjoyed the annual spraying of the
fire hose. For more details, please see the latest edition of the Newport Plain Talk.
