COSBY-Two special events have been added to the annual
'On Cosby' Festival, set for October 19-21 at the Cosby Visitors Center.
Friday has been designated as Kid's Day, with a free
bounce house until 2:00 p.m., special entertainment and karaoke from 12:00-2:00
p.m., and other planned children's activities and games.
Also on the planning board are crafts, pony rides,
bungee-jumping, face painting, and other amusements for a small charge.
The first 150 children arriving will receive a free hot
dog, chips, and bottled water.
"For the past 15 years, students from Smoky
Mountain, Cosby, and Grassy Fork Elementary Schools have ridden buses to our
festival," said Bettye Carver, one of the event's planners. "This
year, however, school will be out the entire week prior to the festival, but we
still look forward to hosting our school children for this special time."
Carver also announced that 'On Cosby' will also host
"Senior's Day" on Friday, October 19, from 2:00-5:00 p.m. for
visitors ages 65 and up. Bingo will be featured, and prizes awarded.
Refreshments will also be served.
