NEWPORT-Visitors entering the front lobby of Newport
Medical Center now pass by one of six stained glass windows removed by the
venerable Graves-Wyatt Chapel of Baptist Hospital of East Tennessee.
Upon the Knoxville institution's demolition, the six
windows were designated for re-installation at other hospitals now part of
Tennova Healthcare.
On Thursday, hospital officials and guests held a Service
of Dedication in Newport Medical Center's garden for the window.
Under the direction of hospital Chaplains Linda Mulford
and Dan Hix, the service began with a short history of the windows.
Dating back sixty years, the windows were installed in
the Knoxville hospital's chape through the generosity of individuals, families,
and the East Tennessee Baptist Hospital Auxiliary. The windows were originally
installed and dedicated
