A benefit on Saturday, September 29, at Browns Chapel Church, 1049 Browns Chapel Road, Parrottsville, is planned for David Easterly Ottinger.

It will begin with a dinner at 5 p.m. following by singing at 7 p.m.

Ottinger was diagnosed with cancer this past August and underwent surgery on September 18. His surgery went well and he is on the road to recovery, but because he is uninsured, he and his family are now overwhelmed with medical bills.

The dinner will feature hot dogs and accompanying items. Homemade desserts will be auctioned after the dinner.

Featured singers included The Camerons, Harmony with Jesus and Mitch Fine, Work in Progress, and Singers by Grace.
