NEWPORT--A dinner in support of the annual Jesse Denton Memorial Scholarships, which help Cocke County adult program graduates continue their education and training beyond high school, will be held on Monday, October 29, 2012.

Tickets will go on sale this week.  The dinner will begin at 6:00 p.m. at Lois's Country Kitchen, 708 Cosby Highway.  Takeout meals will be available at 5:30 p.m. for people who wish to support the scholarship program but cannot stay for the dinner.

"We will also appreciate contributions to the scholarship program from anyone unable attend but who would like to help adult graduates go on to further education," Cocke County Adult Education Director Bryan Douglas said.  "We've awarded scholarships every year for eight straight years as a result of this program."

Tickets can be purchased at the Cocke County Adult Education Center, 423-613-0032, or from Bryan Douglas, Betty Jo Ford, Vella Calfee, Wilbur West, Janyce Westerman, Linda Branam, or Lonnie Butler.  The price per ticket is $20.
