NEWPORT-A female resident on Old Newport Highway, in
Newport, was cited Monday, Sept. 17, for four counts of animal cruelty after
officers looked through the window of her residence and saw "huge"
amounts of dog feces all over the floor, Cocke County Sheriff Armando Fontes
and Deputy Sheriff Chuck Evans reported.
Officers went to the residence of Tracy Shawnee
Robertson, 42, at 1671 Old Newport Highway, in Newport, on three separate
occasions in an attempt to reach her concerning neglected dogs, the report
stated.
After officers peered through a window and saw the dog
feces all over the floor and that the residence appeared abandoned, officers
returned with animal control officers and entered the residence, according to
the report. For more details, please see the latest edition of the Newport Plain Talk.
