NEWPORT- What would the Newport Harvest Street Festival be without a Saturday filled with beauty pageants?

For many years the ladies of Alpha Eta Chapter, Epsilon Sigma Alpha have hosted the Newport Harvest Street Festival Beauty Pageants for children and young adults up to 21 years old.  What many people don't know is that our local Alpha Eta Chapter takes great pride and puts in a lot of hard work to make sure that these pageants take place during the annual street festival.

"In addition to the pageants for the small children, we now have a scholarship pageant for the 16-21 year old age group" said Valerie Fancher, director of the Chamber of Commerce. "2012 will be the second year that we are partnering with Aaron's of Newport. The local Aaron's generously grants a $250 scholarship to the Miss Harvest Street Festival winner and also gives her a $500 shopping spree at the Newport Aaron's."
