NEWPORT-Two young doctors say they are excited about their recent move to this area.

Dr. Nathan DeWitt started working at Rural Medical Services in Newport this week.

Dr. Megan DeWitt, his wife, will soon be employed at RMS, as well. She said she is finishing up an OB fellowship; her husband also completed the fellowship. She expects to start at RMS Sept. 24.

The young couple, who are both 30, said in an interview on Friday that they are impressed with the beauty of the hills and mountains in East Tennessee - a far cry from the flat lands of Texas in the Fort Worth area.

The family practice doctors have an OB specialty that will, like other doctors at the Newport facility, allow them to deliver babies and perform C-sections, post-partum tubal ligations, and vasectomies.

Nathan started work at the Newport clinic on Monday, Aug. 20.
